Oversized balloons, flowers and lots of prettiness in Dulwich village – A retro fashion shoot taking us back to the 1940s

Former beauty editor Hannah Adams loves the 1940/50s era. So when I asked her if she would be willing to participate in a vintage photoshoot in Dulwich, she agreed with very little persuasion.

For a work assignment I had to arrange this session in the park and the village of Dulwich working with participating suppliers. After a little research and a call out for suppliers, I was soon contacted by a vast number of local and further afield businesses. Hannah already had the wardrobe and the style I was looking for, I needed a few more props to complete the look so I selected 3 suppliers of  items I required.

With a model to direct, places & poses to think about, a bulky heavy camera & props to carry, it was a rather tiring day for us both but it was fun, really fun. Lots of prettiness following in the images below:

  • Special thanks to the following suppliers who offered their services for this photoshoot:
  • Jacqui from Tiffany’s Balloons (Chelmsford) for the 2 big hellium balloons who brought lots of smiles from the Dulwich public
  • Laura from The Blossom Bar (Rayleigh) for the gorgeous bouquet of roses and the pretty vintage hydrengea bouquet
  • Hatty from Whats your tale Nightingale (Colchester) for the vintage props – coat, suitcase & umbrella which completed Hannah’s look perfectly
